A little word from the editor

We have now been up and running for a little while. We are constantly evolving, « tweaking » and trying to make the right decisions in terms of the editorial direction which best reflects us.

The articles seen here are selected for their pertinence and for what we consider to be outstanding « elements » of the Parisian scene. In the future, we wont be limiting these articles to Paris or even France alone.  The creative process, to us, is about a « cross pollination of trends ». All across the board. To us, it is more about unifying common threads on a much larger scale; tapping into central themes and cultural directions everywhere; pointing out that which affects us in a unique way… We will be focusing on the bigger picture in the future. This is how is how we intend to pursue with Paris Papers..

Back to the articles and content of Paris papers; NONE of the articles are sponsored links or provide us with any financial « reward ». Aside from merely passing on informative selections; what we consider to be interesting, we just like to point out authentic aspects that revolve around the contemporary Parisian scene. We will someday perhaps include, discretely, ads that aim to complement these posts. This is what we will have to do if we want to keep on posting items to a keen, literate and demanding public. Certain click through ads, we feel, are not coherent with our graphic interface in the long term.

We will slowly be carving out more time for this site, (and no, we do not nurture this little site exclusively; we use the little free time we have available, so that Paris Papers can flourish), however, we eventually DO want to focus on our blog more exclusively.

We will be developing a page around certain key players in Paris; the « Paris People section » (under construction) as well as aspiring to a more tech-rich agenda in the future. For the moment, we rely on our Facebook page for this. So far, we have attempted to grow on in a more « organic » way ; focusing on quirky and whimsical items. From all our research and endeavors,  a certain personality has been forged. With it, an element of humour and irony has emerged. Updates, playlists and and specialist themes will be featured here on the « Buzz » page very soon. That’s it. In the mean time, follow the link below.

Le Tampographe – Sardon (Sardon rubber stamps)
We have wanted to write about this particular character for some time, and he is quite a character. Irascible would probably describe him best. However, without being this way, his formidable work and craftsmanship would probably never have seen the light. Sardon is, in fact, a very ni […]

Israel Garcia & his Camera Minutera
Strolling along the Seine in the blistering heat this summer, we literally stumbled across a very charismatic figure peering through his black box camera; his “minutera” surrounded by hordes of on lookers. A family were standing remarkably still in order to catch the perfect amount of light and […]

With their funky name, which favours a large dose of alliteration, you would be forgiven to suspect that this store was born from just another fashion combo. Yes to the fashion aspect but also to the food and other finery that are actually what you will be greeted with in this concept store in the 11th arrondissemen […]

No, the fate of the printed magazine or book has not been compromised by the digital age. It would seem that these 2 very different ways of reading actually complement and nurture one another. We have learnt to change our habits in order to easily distinguish the ways that these two approaches to consulting articles or stories func […]

    Edito
Imagine a drawing or graphic transcribed to a beautiful hand crafted rug and that adds a considerable edgy, “crafty” personality to a room. Floor art. Soft floor art conceived for tough use. This would be Edito; a new concept in rugs born from the collaboration between Isabelle and Tom, 2 very established graphic designers who h […]

We stumbled across this site, which has too many enticing objetcs to mention here, but the overall feel of “warehouse chic “ gave rise to our decision to feature their unique items here. Personally, we love industrial, well worn, large-scale furniture and especially when you mix these larger pieces with traditional modern de […]

    Oliver Beer
The superlative gallery space that constitutes the Thaddeus Ropac gallery is well worth the trek; situated just on the outskirts of Paris and the Pantin area. It was not just a clever ploy to acquire and construct a unique space in this area, thereby accommodating huge art installations, but once there, you are incited to take […]

    Matières à réflexion
We haven’t often talked about recycling on Paris Papers, so now is the opportunity to do so, especially in the wake of thought provoking issues that are flourishing around this subject. Matières à réflexion is a great reflection of this in that its distinguishing feature is based on reincarnating beautiful lea […]
